Whoa! 3rd SK8FEST a HUGE success.

Wow, now THAT was a fun game!
This year's Sk8FEST was undoubtedly the best skating and reffing that we've ever seen at this annual event. If you were lucky enough to be part of the 400+ crowd then you know how great it was. The hits! The plays! The fishnets?!
Announcers Gypsy and Tea Cups kept up on the edges of our seats all night long. Last night we were glad to see our favourite RPGRG Rollergirls team up with skaters from Williams Lake, Quesnel, Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, and Terrace. It's great to see the amount of derby skill in this area!
Here's the recap: The scrimmage got underway with white team taking an easy early lead. The black team soon shook off their early game nerves and got down to business by steadily closing the point gap until finally surpassing the white team. Their lead would be brief as both teams battled hard at even points right until the end. It was a great derby night.
Our 50/50 draw was a success too, the payout was a whopping $310!
In the SK8FEST tradition, many skaters play this game as their first. This year's rookie of the game was Rated PG's own hard-core hockey gal Hippie Checkinya who  played
the best first bout ever seen! Way to go Hippie we're glad to have you around.

Thanks to all the volunteers, the fans, sponsors, skaters, Non-skating officials, and referees.
I love this sport! Woop, YEA RPG!
